.....

oh, hi there, bachman!!! I was just counting some graves for the upcoming election.

Do you ever sleep???

Hey! I've got a story to tell you and the other DELLheads....today, I visited my broker to write a check for some stuff I bought last week while I was in Atlanta. And I walk in with a DELL hat on and a t-shirt (but not Kemble's--- that's in the wash), and bluejeans.....and I did not shave this morning; so I've got the shadow going.

and he comes around the corner in his suit....and we start talking in the lobby and then he says, do you have time to come back to my office? and I say, "Sure, but let me put my hat back on....cause I want all these folks to see that if they buy DELL, then they can work like I am dressed!"

So....we walk past a bunch of people ......and I start humming, "Buy DELL, buy MORE DELL, Go DELL, Run Mikey Run"......

and we get into his office and I tell him about meeting Kemble....and he asks, "So, you met all your internet buddies"....and I start telling him about you all.....some of which he has heard before....and then he says, "So, you have been to Mecca?" and I said, "I have been to the Mecca, and I believe!!!"

He does a quote on DELL and it is up 2 3/4 at the time.....and then he gets on the phone.....and calls their options desk.....and finds out that he can buy LEAPS in his IRA and places an order.....then he gets a reply that he cannot buy the LEAPS because his account does not have an option agreement on it.....so he calls an assistance, and asks her to brings in 2 option agreements.....he starts filling one out for me!! YEAH!!! and the other one is for him.....

He told me that I had made a believer out of him......

I guess the Ann West story and turning $1,000 into over $325,000 helps, huh???

BTW, do you have any photos for me???

later

david

Hi Bachman (and David)!

Remember Tom Meredith's quote:

"Diversification is expensive insurance."

With CPQ you still are investing in a boxmaker. Why stray from DELL, the leader in this category?

If you want to diversify, you might consider AOL, NOKA, CSCO, or perhaps CMGI (not listed, just a personal favorite) instead. (IMO, of course).

See fool.com (especially Relative Strength -- IBD Method) and fool.com.

Best regards,

JB

Jbn,and THREAD TRADERS Re: should I place a stop loss under Dell on earnings day (in case Dell doesn't beat the whisper)? How far underneath the selling price should one place the stop loss order, given the volatility of the stock. Is it a good idea at all? With all the good news yesterday on PC sales will the guys who concoct the whisper number raise it? I sometimes think they do this deliberately as a way of scaring people into selling Dell so they can make a short term profit. I expect Dell to be at 130 by Aug 17.
thanks
