I don't know about the best suppliers, but as far as a buy out companies rarely buy out others when the should, like when they are cheap. Usually they buy them when they are high. And I would guess that Sumi us hurting just as bad as the rest of the high tech suppliers and money is tight. But who knows?

I also think that everything that is happening now with wafers and chips is just going to make the ride back up much steeper and sweeter.

"Best" is certainly a relative term. I think Wacker probably has the best reputation amongst Caucasians, and SEH among Asians. No way Sumitomo will buy MEMC!

MEMC announced the closing of the Spartanburb plant, which produces 4 to 6 inch material. Probably a good business move, but I feel very badly for the many good friends I have made there over the years. They were my first customer and it was a bumpy introduction to the exciting world of semiconductor equipment support. Through all the years, I have enjoyed the best rapport with them of all my customers. I will miss them and wish them the best of luck for the future. They are lucky enough to be located in an area that is doing well economically, so it need not be a catastrophe for them and their families.
