why not use actual numbers and not your hyperbole

Whenever someone provides a contrary view on SI - they get treated pretty poorly they leave. It turns the threads into rah-rah boards which reinforce each others narrow beliefs.

On numbers - I provided dayrates. You do the calc and provide it. I'll try -- 48 boats in the gulf on Q1 10Q at $8159 dayrate and 70% utilization. Keep util the same and lower dayrate to $6000. You lose $9 million in operating income. Op Inc was $14.8 in Q1, $17.1 in Q2 -- not an insignificant reduction. (hmmm... cut income in half and EPS is .25 per qtr. I think R James can get there. Maybe he has $5500 dayrate and slightly higher utilization. Maybe $5500 is the dayrate exiting Q3 but the average is still higher. Also rates outside of the gulf are not immune.)

I think util does not rise. TDW puts the heat on to keep market share, as they threatened many times.

On gas rigs - I was told by a boat company CFO to watch the reinjection rate on gas rigs. I was told that it was over 50% and that this indicated utilization drop in the 2nd half. I do not know how good this info is as I cannot get anyone on the O&G thread to comment on it.

I am trying to help. Take you blinders off.
