Doc - how did you make out from SRCM?

This was an education. I shorted at 18 3/4 and it jiggled around a bit for most of the day. Late afternoon it started to psuh up and broke 19. There is an apparent "deal" for insiders that if the stock closes above 20 for 20 consecutive days, they get big incentives. Counting today, I believe they had 5 days to go. I covered at 19 1/4 fearing that games were afoot and that SRCM would be pushed over 20. It made it to 19 3/4 and then died with a bang.

There was one final try about 10 minutes before the close with big volumes on the buy but they were met by equally big volumes on the offer.

In retrospect, I got too jittery. The stock will likely see 15 before it ever revisits 20. I think will give it another go tomorrow.

thean...

"Analysts also pointed out that Monday's sharp turnaround to end higher was built on shaky ground with the gains
focused on a too narrow group of stocks."

Gold finally made an up move when the dow tanked. Clinton "going down" on the DOW & Dollar?

MU got a burst from the saturday analyst meeting...that's all. If it should power above 32 and break this years downtrend then I may re-evaluate....but i doubt it.

Thean

Well, I'm in HD and CPQ and they moved very little. HD found lots of support at 43. I need CPQ to move to 32.5 or 28.5 in order to take some profits off the table. HD needs to go to 47 or 40 for me to take profits.

Drillers still getting reamed.

Only made two trades today - shorted 200 more shares of GTW at 57 (love these dead cat bounce things) and bought some very cheap ABX calls. If GTW goes to 60, I will short 200 more.

Thean - still more selling ahead?? Keep hearing how every one is looking for capitulation or panic selling.

Take Care

Mike
