Short interest in amat went up pretty sharply in the last month,
according to the wsj. One of the biggest gainers on nasdaq.

I'm wondering if it's even worth looking at semi-equips other than AMAT. Why not just invest in the leader, the one that will weather the storm better than the rest, the one that will be a $20 billion company within 2 years. In a market like this, having true quality is of paramount importance. Applied is true quality. Any portfolio should be well diversified, but you might as well concentrate on the one or two leaders in any sector. Just my opinion.
