It is a trend and will continue for at least
2 years. The RBOCs are spending more time
buying each other and entering the long distance market
than they are tending to business. The CATV companies
are exploiting this delay by building networks to enter
into residential internet and residential telphony. They
currently have a very small [nearly 0% I'm guessing]
percentage of a huge telephone market and along with Internet
at $40 per month we have huge motivation for the two way upgrades.

Its been my direct experience that the two way upgrades are
underway and are early in their development. They will be
buying equipment for sometime. Additionally the RBOCs will
finally need to join the game to protect their marketshare.
Subsequently it will be an arms race [HFC vs ADSL vs VSDL vs
FFTC vs FFTH vs ???] with all of them spending money to beat
each other.

GIC is in an excellent position. It reminds me of the Krupps
Arms works previous to WWII. Sell cannon to both sides of the
conflict....NLV [xDSL] vs GIC [HFC]. If memory serves me, Krupp
made the dynasty last for 600 years.

Plan on riding this wave for a long time.
