Ah but even there many would disagree - specifically regarding Iran/Contra etc. The point being, Reagan was not completely "clean" so to speak. So, tell me then, if we are going to accept some elements of dishonesty (or, at the very least, lack of straightforwardness) then who will decide what is ok vs. what isnt? And please, dont let it be Kenneth Starr!

Your points about Kennedy resemble what I have heard, specifically regarding the Bay of Pigs I forgot about that.

And remember past presidents were not under the same paparazzi-like scrutiny of their personal lives as is the case today. I saw something on Dateline lately, some woman met Kennedy in the white house (Magilla or something-from Sweden I think), who knows what went on, something obviously did however. You know what? I dont want to know and I dont care.

I agree with you that Kennedy and Reagan were examples of great leadership in spite of their weaknesses. You overlook George Bush, who was not only the most highly qualified and prepared President in recent history, but was also a great leader as well as a courageous and moral person. If people said to him what they say about Clinton he would have thrown them bodily out of the Whitehouse with his own hands. Of course in his case it never crossed anyone's mind.
