Hello Brian,

Thanks for paying us a visit.

Thanks for the nice welcome.

Sometime last year you had Ramtron as a speculative favorite(can't remember when).

Ugh! So far that has been a pretty lousy pick. Actually, I have a lot of speculative favorites. I do try to keep them down to a very small percentage of my total portfolio. Ramtron is one that I am just going to be patient with - today the picture is not pretty. I also own ATMI which has exposure to the ferroelectric arena.

Right now we are suggesting a disproportionate share of assets in a long term portfolio be held as cash. Those willing to trade aggressively can have at it! Obviously the big names will be the first to move up when we begin to see the recovery. Today we are still in the bottoming process.

With the pushout of 300mm I think AMAT will move a little slower toward the litho arena and yes, it does make sense for them to get in to this business. From what I have heard they have developed a track for 300mm wafer processing. I am not going to speculate on anything else they might have up their sleeve - even the buyout of SVGI or anyone else.

Seems many SIers are suffering from the semi blues. Hopefully we'll see better days soon.

It's been a tough two years, that's for sure.

Have a nice evening,

Carl
