Dear Robert I must tell you that your answers are now tending to assume conclusions we have not yet reached. In 2 Sam. 7:1O it is clear to me that "my people Israel" refers to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 2Sa 7:10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime, What biblical basis from the Old Testament can you point to that this also refers to a spiritual kingdom. I thought that we had agreed that Israel meant National Israel. I could list many references in the OT were words like my people Isael refers to the physical decendants. (Ex 1:9 & 3:10, Lev 17:4, Num 14:1 ect. ect.) Q. <When Daniel speaks here of Israel, using the words they and us, is he speaking of National Israel? > A. <I believe that Daniel was referring not to only the tribe of Judah, but ALL of Israel > The Bible is consistent. We should not change the meaning from each reference without a biblical reason to do so. If the passage in 2 Sam 7:10 refers on some level to the Nation, when was it fulfilled "that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime," Of course they were afflicted during WWII and then returned to the a place of their own. Some day they will be afflicted no more. With your permission I feel we should clarify this issue before we proceed. I praise God that the tone of this study and the thread as a whole has improved. It is a blessing from God that we can reason together. I thank you for your part in that change. in Yeshua's love for you - DLL
