From Voodoo extreme:
Banshee info. - 2:05pm MDT- Billy "Wicked" Wilson
After digging around a bit, I scored a few morsels of information
on Banshee. My primary concern was that with a lot of sites
using a "Beta" of the chip and "alpha" drivers, that the board
would not be or is not currently being represented well. Well,
here's what I dug up (this is from 3dfx, but I can't say from
who...just trust me when I say it's a VERY reliable source over
there):

I think final performance is about the same as the beta
stuff we've been putting out. The chip has been solid for
quite a while and if there's a performance increase then it'll
be mostly driver work. Some major system OEM deals are
concluding. You'll hear
about them over the next few weeks as systems are sent
to reviewers (can't hide the decision then!) Didja know
Banshee did SDRAM and SGRAM? SGRAM is *much* more
expensive and we've yet to verify a large overall benefit to
speed using it. It may be there but it's not fully tested yet.
We've got over 95% of the current Glide titles (and D3D)
running already without any trouble.

Got a new build of NFL Blitz and it runs at not only at
1024x768 but also 1600x1200 (Banshee optimization) :)
Amazing looking! It uses Glide and Direct3D 6.0 with much
better visuals and performance through Glide - duh! And
the team doing Blitz has also been contracted to do the
port of a popular Atari racing game ;) It'll have the same
enhancements as Blitz!
