That $30 billion is a pretty big number. I wonder what they mean by "addressable market." Is it the total amount spent on telecom by 2002 in Brazil? I can't help but notice the cellular licenses went for substantially higher premiums than Embratel. Given the little I know about phone density in Brazil (1 million person waiting list) it seems the demand could be filled much more rapidly by cells than by MCIC. Granted WCOM's strategy is not consumer-oriented, and businesses in Brazil are gonna need that fat fiber pipe, but I hope the $30 billion figure isn't the figure for ALL of the telecom market.

I hadn't thought about the complementarity with Telefonica.

I'm sure we'll get some more specific numbers in the next few days.
