lol... let me bridge the generation gap. <g>

To "diss" someone is actually from a rap song back in the late 80s. It was, correctly guessed by aleta, to take the place of "dishonor". It is usually used in conjunction with "done."

SENTENCES THAT MEAN THE SAME THING:

"Dat boy got dissed!"
"Dat boy got done!"

Of course, "done" has another meaning. It could mean that when a person gets "done", that person was killed. But these days, we're now coming out of the gangsta rap mentality and returning back to Old School, as things tend to happen.

TD.

Aleta, congratulations. They're starting to like you over at ESVS/Yahoo.

Regarding Matty's suggestion, in my view, there's no need to start up any new thread. Why add to the confusion we've already got? To do so would only make more monitoring work for each of us.

Besides, you're on a roll. Keep it up! And do note, however, that whenever you need a feisty tango I'll still be around! (LOL)

Do note also that were I not in a position where I've had to hitchhike onto a variety of different computers and phone lines, I'd be more helpful in the communications area. Being quasi-homeless ain't easy!

Looking forward to the new Q&A that you've helped establish.
