Interesting viewpoints. To me, it's a coin-toss whether the FTC would prefer TLC or MSFT buying out Cendant's titles. TLC is unquestionably acquisitive, and that sets off alarm bells, but I suppose you may be right that MSFT is the boogeymonster to the regulators. As comparison, the combined share of TLC/Brod/Cendant would not be much more than Netscape's (one-time) share of the browser market, and they were still viewed as the victim in the MSFT battle.

As for whether Cendant's titles are up for sale, I have little doubt. Cendant is a "virtual" company; they don't want anything to do with actual products. I never quite understood why an owner of branded franchise names would also have software titles. For whatever reason, they did well with them. But if they're trying to turn that disaster around, I think Knowledge Adventure has a big FOR SALE sign on it.
