Had to buy some LU at the close today even if it goes down to $85..long term,Lucent is the GE of the next millenium.

I'm not overly worried about the price in the long term. I'm just trying to better understand this stock and its place in the market. If Lucent is such a great stock and everyone knows it, it begs the question who is selling, and selling so much to drive the price from 108 to 89 in several days.

Is it the institutions trying to get out before the other guy does (do I hear stampede)?

Is this all occurring because some day traders are playing around short and all of this is happening with a small float of shares. If that is the case, are folks like us buying the short shares?

Again I say, everyone can't be selling because someone has to be buying. Who is selling and who is buying these shares!?!?
