Not to be missed is that according to QCOM's own 3G "talking points", they aren't expecting to have CDMAone users of a similar number until 2002! GSM should be nearing in on half a billion by then.

Don't you recall: "If our customers want cdma, we will deny them that request" or pretty much words to that effect. Also, GSM shall be the only digital service available in Europe by rule of law. Maybe your opinion is that this is good customer service. I think it is symptomatic of the kleptocracy approach which the YETI SETI mob are taking to cdma2000.

I agree with the firehose in the mouth approach to competitors. No need to seek their love at all. Just co-operation where beneficial to one's own interests.

Now, Nokia is racing ahead, looking after customers like crazy while, according to Tero, Ericsson has left a gap in their product development.
