Flaming Friends or Team Fun On SI a game that used to be a lot of fun was flame your friend. Here is how it worked. The SI database did not number posts permanently, when offending messages were deleted all the posts shifted, much like we are doing today. There was however, no absolute way to link. Any links in the thread after the post was removed would be shifted as well. So the games was break the link. The set up was always an ignorant but poorly crafted flame. This flame would be directed at a member of the "inside group", it could then be removed by an "inside" complaint if necessary. This served to render all links useless for later readers.
