Its my hunch that the MM that E trade uses does the 5,000 and the remainder when they feel like it and at a price of their chosing. If anyone else has it happen with any other broker I would like to know. Sometimes I see trades going thru for an even 100,000 shares, improbable that someone ordered 105,000 shares. E trade told me that even trades of 100,000 were MM to MM trades, I said nonsense.
