you can run the scan each night for virtual or better once a week. If a split or correction occurs, virtual will update, unlike MS format. A name change or IPOs need a rescan. Nothing exist in the V directory except the symbols sent there on your first scan.

You have no update at all in MS format. While I keep all symbols, the real power is in developing scans that produce the stocks you want to look at. If you are looking at stocks that the scans aren't picking up, like old favorites, just build a list by typing in symbols then send it to virtual. QP has given immense freedom on the building of files by its robust scans.
