First a brief introduction and tale of my 3dfx woes. I have been lurking here at SI for quite some time. This seems the best source of good information. Unfortunately, I have fallen in love with this company and its products. I am extremely long with average price around $20. I thought I could wait this stock out, but now I am beginning to wonder.

The question is what will it take to make a difference and start a run-up? It seems to me at this point it will take something quite extraordinary. Obviously, the company is kicking ass in its core business. Everyone knows this. At this time, it seems the company needs some major surprise announcements which will upwardly change the expectations from where they currently are. Big OEM announcements, new product announcements (consoles, etc), Internet-related product slants, partnerships w. gaming companies like the foregone Sega deal (preferably announce w. Sony or Nintendo), and a big settlement from Sega and potential takeover target or acquisition to diversify the business.

If it is possible to discuss without wild speculation, what will it take to make a difference at this point? Or is it just a matter of waiting it out until the street suddenly realizes the value, and sentiment changes towards the stock? I think the later may be a long wait at this point.
