Answer to question #2: Coal bed methane is produced by conventional methods of drilling into and producing through pipe. Just like any other oil or gas well. They will not mine and produce CBM at the same time. First the gas. Coal bed methane is a low pressure gas and has a very slow decline rate. Will produce for years without further treatment. CBM wells are shallow wells and cost very little to drill and produce.
