MskiHntr, I agree with everything you have stated in your two posts re:shorting. You neglected to include a discussion on NAKED shorting by MMs, however. Naked shorting can and is done by MMs. If you write one more post covering naked shorting (no pun intended), then I believe your posts will be both accurate and complete. Send me a PM if you want some information on naked shorting. I do want to ask one point of clarification re: shorting from Canada. Are the requirements you listed based on government regulations, or are they broker restrictions? The reason I ask is because I have heard that someone would need anywhere from 200% up to 400% of the stock price in their account in cash in order to short a BB stock from Canada. I don't know if the less stringent guidelines are governmental, and the more stringent guidelines are for some particular broker who chooses to be more conservative. Please advise if you know the answer. Thank you. -Dave
