Putting them in a cash account gives no guarantee that they are not lent..... The only guarantee is to have them in your possession.

This info is per E-trade: E-trade would not guarantee that shares in a cash account are not loaned out.... They said the only guarantee was to call for my shares...

spoke with waterhouse securities...

"And if you happen to request the certs at the wrong moment, you'll be unable to trade your shares while the certs are in transit, which can be a bummer"...

NOT TRUE...with waterhouse..you have 3 days to "SETTLE" your account...thus you can sell them & mail/deliver them back 72hrs later.
