Sriram,

Faber also said that ASND may be buying Stratus to make itself less attractive to possible suitor LU. Stratus will create more product overlap with LU which is possibly why some are getting out. Are we seeing the speculative (takeover) money get out of ASND..now seeing the real valuation? Note that todays loss, according to Faber, is more than ASND would spend for SRA...and SRA has $11/share in cash!!!

"Faber think LU deal if it happens now will be OK because of the
pooling--accounting issue with LU of October '98 deadline because it
may take 3 months to close the deal." That's exactly what I said maybe a month or more ago and it was shot down - that they can't even begin to talk until 10/1 is what was claimed!!

If Faber is right then the stock should shoot up; if not then he's just been suckered into making a counter-rumor!
