gbh, livinston is a less denser ras, grf is not ascends bread butter,
yurie's switch is mainly a lan switch and its wan switch is NOT OC-48,
nor is it anywhere near the CBX 550 (qos). regards, Immi

Gary, I've read that
-the GRF on hold
-SA hasn't been a big focus for ASND
-Livingston product is more low-end
-it's very difficult to displace ASND products in carriers/ISPs due to training need and familiarity.

I continue to believe that LU/ASND form a very strong strategic fit which LU needs to take on CSCO, NT/BAY and European telecom equipment supplies (Siemens, ALA, ERICY) in the new data- not voice-centric world.

Now suddenly everyone starts looking at overlapping products between Ascend and the gigs that LU purchased (Livingston and Yurie). These were not new purchases for LU yet no one thought them to be enough to derail Lucents intention to go for Ascend. Suddenly today with Ascends purchase of a company to get SS7 related products everyone wakes up.
Cant figure that out.

watch for greatly revised GRF to be announced soon (perhaps 90 days) - I anticipate it will be a breakthrough technology...
