To all,
I don't short nor long Dell since tired of market and some misfortune (not a bad picker but execution style), but this thread is fun.
Bulls come here attack LT when Dell up, they just disappear when Dell down and overvalued market almost tank. LT might be to stiff in investment style, but here is the bear cave.
Goood luck to all,

Hi Lucretius Taurus; Funny. I would have thought there
would be all these apologizing Dell bulls over here fawning
at your feet after their display yesterday... They must have
taken a "long" weekend, cause they were not in the market
this past afternoon.

Any other shorts you are currently thinking about?

LT,

Now I understand they bite you only when they are full.

About stocks to short: INTC, CPQ, HWP, MOT, CA... I will give you more some time later. You can short them WHEN they go crazy. It is much safer to short these than to short my stocks (CPQ is my).

<<Jimmy, how are them longs today? I expect apologies from all the kiddies that trashed me yesterday. When I'm wrong I admit it, but when I'm right........I reap it!>>

I'm here, and haven't run away...Why should I apologize, though?

Luke, I'll give you a "single" for calling today's turnaround. Problem is, investing is a nine-inning game. Singles don't not win you ballgames, (unless you get a helluva a lot of them). You have to score runs...You have to get people out.

Since early April, when you starting posting on the Dell long thread, Dell's stock has appreciated approximately 70%. That is 70% of gain, that for the most part, you have missed out on....From what you have told me of your investments, they have not faired nearly as well. So, if it makes your day to gloat over predicting a one-day turn in the market, GREAT! I sincerely am happy for you. Me? For me, I am glad that I am up 70% in less than three months, and heading into an earning announcement that is going to be outstanding...From all my sources in and around Dell, July has been an absolute blow-out..
Add that to 72% unit growth (April-June), smalller ASP reductions, and IMO, you are sailing into a hurricane, I think...(Only a guess, but) Dell would have to retreat back into the low 80's, high 70's for us to be even on our (differing investments on) Dell, and even then, only if I would be stupid enough to sell (and you would exercise)...even if Dell WOULD HIT low 80's, high 70's....if it recovered from a correction (like in late May/June), and I do not sell, I am still way up...and, if you don't exercise, the correction did not make you any money....so a lot still has to go wrong before we are sitting in the same "return circle" on this one.

After all, as you have stated before, this is about making money...pure and simple....he who is ahead the most is the winner!

"As for DELL and the NASCRAP for the S-T. I'm sure all the bulls are
patting themselves on the back today for such a great rally. Today was
an awfully poor rally. <<The NASCRAP and DELL should reverse on Fri or Mon
(Tues at the latest) and the next leg of the selloff will be deep and
get SLOPPY! DELL will not see new highs. Check back next week>>

If this doesn't come through for you, your single will be left stranded on base, and the longs will still be pitching a shut-out..
I'll check back with you next week, Luke....

Ludicrous Ursus,

I am doing great see you at 125 in a few weeks when the performance numbers are out. It is good that you have other speculations to cover your losses over the last few months in DELL.

Yin and Yang...Ludicrous, you'd like to have it both ways, but you have to choose if you expect anyone to ever listen to you. You believe that you've called a top, but you only allow a day to pass before you declare victory over the Bulls. Then in other posts, you are very unwilling to place a timeframe on the decline.

Make up your mind.
