The vast majority of manipulation is done from the long side.

I agree. But I agree only because the vast majority of shareholders are long and thus have a vested interest in the stock going up. That's a polite way of me saying that longs aren't any more or less "evil" than shorts.

How about if the theatre ISN'T on fire, and in the panic to exit the theatre some people die or are hurt? Is it against the law then?

Think you would be absolved if you yelled FIRE!!! ... but first preceded that ... with a whispered "imho"???
