<<I can not figure out why AAPL did not include
a Floppy Disc Drive in their iMac.-->>

Many people have forgotten that it was Apple who introduced the 3.5" floppy. Sony had a new format which was technically superior to the 5.25" "floppy" floppies in every way -- but nobody wanted to touch it. Except of course, Steve Jobs.

Naturally, the rest of the computer world followed suit (after years of dual-drive machines).

Well, nobody's gonna be backing up a 4Gig hard drive on 3,000 floppies -- that job's been replaced by Zip's, Jaz, and CR-R drives.

Nobody's gonna be distributing software on them either -- CD's are much cheaper to create and distribute.

Transfering files? Networks and email attachments are faster and safer.

The "blinking floppy question mark"? I'll miss it -- but to be honest, I'm never really delighted to see it.

So once again, Steve is forced to take the initiative. Or, in the immortal words of Mr. Bill Cosby:

"I brought you into this world... and I can take you out of it too."
