Jim: report from the Russell: REITs look like they've bottomed here, but big and little natgas were hit, banks were hit, retailers were hit. The good stuff bounced off the bottom of the trading ranges today. Small buyers showed up to pick up morsels and bid-ask spreads widened.
I'd like to think this is bottom but I can't really see signs of it here. The brokers will fall at the bottom. It's more like there's severe overcapacity in just about every industry, and this is nature's way of weeding out all but the strongest. It's gonna be a stock-picker's markets for years.
Somebody big moved into SWS today, I can't tell if it's a good sign for smallcaps or not.
