That's interesting. Another I know on SI often mentions the illegal connections some Canadian stock manipulators seem to have but it's hard to believe.

In the Pink/BB environment it's easy for the minor player to get involved looking for short term gains. Too many today think that it's easy to make money.

It's not easy. People such as the ones on the site you mention are all too ready to pick a pocket, I would think. I mentioned on an earlier post where I get Boiler Room calls, it's the last ditch effort of a failing IPO to cold call a prospect. The Internet hype is one way of drumming up sales but where were they when the stock was busting a move? It's all too easy to get a client in once the stock appears to have some momentum but that is usually when the initial buyers are taking a powder.

The entire "under $5" issue is a problem for me. No self-respecting brokerage firm will have an opinion as long as the stock trades so low. The spread between bid and ask and the potential for MM whipsaw is too great for the risk.

But it's difficult to convince a new player to the game that things are not what they seem.
