Finally, midnight rolls around...forgot about that damned 3 post thing... Patrick- one reason I think that PC Gamer and Boot got the same numbers on TNT...I think they are both owned by Imagine. So it is likely a single test result posted to both pages. Also, this was not a test board. My understanding is that they came to Imagine's office with their own computer and board...so who knows how it was configured. You would think that with near final silicon they would just send the card...I still don't really trust nVidia... regarding the STBI thing- please remember that this is all speculation and would be way in the future. I don't want to be responsible for starting a rumor or putting words into DZ's mouth. (though I think it would be a great idea) As for other chip companies not wanting to deal with them IF there was ever any kind of deal...I don't know. If STBI were to remain as is, but wholly or the majority owned by TDFX, then it may not be noticable to other 3d party chipmakers. In the end they just want to ship chips. regarding paying for content- Dave told me that they had an agreement with ERTS and ATVI; he didn't specify what the deal was. Perhaps TDFX helped them write some of the code to run on TDFX? I don't know that cash is part of the deal. I seem to remember from a while back that ERTS had bought a little stake in TDFX. Can anyone confirm? Still, the concept of some form of compensation for exclusive TDFX compatiblity has been talked about if not already done. to Stuart Hall who said: "Creative is a press-releas-a-minute type company. I'm surprised we don't know when their CEO takes a successful dump." Thank you for the laugh. I am still laughing! I get some good ones from this place. My wife will yell at me from the other room "What are you doing?" Well, when she asks this question, she knows damned well I am playing a game. I respond, thanks to Chip Anderson's definition of due diligence, "DD, honey, DD!" And thanks to those with the kind words!
