Case study #3: Is it legal to post a bounty on unmasking an alias on SI?

[BTW, Kerry's post is case study #2]

Summary: Pluvia, through his own due diligence, came to the conclusion that things were not, shall we say, Kosher over at PLSIA. John Westergaard, under contract with PLSIA to go after their critics, decided to do the following:

Westergaard Internet Broadcasting Network (WIBN) posts $5,000 reward for information on "Steve Pluvia", the Silicon Investor Registered Pen Name of a person, or persons, circulating disinformation designed to drive down the price of Premier Laser Systems (PLSIA) common shares.

Source: westergaard.com:8080/week97081822.html

SI thread: Subject 16571

Ultimately Pluvia was vindicated as PLSIA truly was cooking their books as he alleged. There are several lawsuits pending and the stock was delisted.
