Jeff,

Undoubtedly. The number of times in a year really big companies pull something stupid is probably some very small number. Bigger companies can use perfectly legal GAAPs to position themselves where ever they want to be.

Do you believe this ?
or
Or are you being facetious ?

What you are suggesting is backwards.
Unethical managers of listed companies steal peoples money. They do it all the time, regardless of what may be alleged here on SI.

I have ample evidence of this, as do most other people who read on SI. What evidence do you have to support your contention that individuals alleging negligent, incompetent and/or illicit management decisions are more numerous than these fraudulent companies ?

I might point out that you are presupposing that an individual posting on SI actually has some ability to affect the company fortunes. That is the topic of this thread is it not ?

Ample proof exists that certain managers will say whatever is required to get your money.

I still don't see how you arrive at your conclusion, it is completely backwards.

JSM: I believe that there are some posters
whose sole purpose on SI is to manipulate prices whenever they can.
I have my own opinions as to who they are, and the way I have tried to insulate myself from them is to bookmark their profiles.
I always try to see which threads they are posting on, and try to avoid buying those stocks.

I may be using the bookmark function backwards, but it works for me.
