Graystone, I think all of us need to make a distinction between BB stocks and those on major exchanges as they are quite different, IMO.

Also, I guess we need to define "manipulation". If Company A issues three press releases in a row to create interest, then good for them; that's just a business decision, IMO. However, if those press releases contain false and/or misleading information, then I consider that manipulation.

Graystone,

I'm really talking out of both sides of my mouth at once. <vbg>

No, I think that manipulators run the gamut from the itsy, bitsy cheerleader type to the out and out hired tout (on the "long" side). On the short side, I rarely see known shorters in penny stocks, because, I assume the risk is too great. Most of the so called SI "bashers" don't have a position in the companies they are accused of "bashing", so you can't really call that manipulation. Shorters are more commonly found in the mid cap to large cap range, and sometimes you might think you can see some evidence of instilling fear in the longs. But remember, most shorts are not shorting long term in most stocks. Shorters are playing the day to day price volatility. It's very rare to watch a shorter ride a stock all the way down to zero, but I suppose it does happen sometimes.
