Artoo-Detoo, if you can put together a company such as ERHC, you deserve to pay yourself such salaries.
May be most of you are missing the point. Look at the share price of oil and gas companies, and you will see that they are at 52 week low's. In fact, the recent articles in Wall Street Journals and others reported that oil drilling activities in the U.S. is more than 60% below the previous year activities. Big oil companies refuse to bring on new wells since the cost of producing the oil is more than the selling price. That is, if the cost price of your product is more that the selling price, why produce? So don't expect to see production by ERHC from the U.S.

ERHC is in a unique position, and we will see that before the end of 1998. If Schlumberberger is willing to spend an additional $12 mil to conduct seismic in Sao Tome, and major oil companies will be anxious to bid for leases, then there has to be something big to come from this concession, one of the largest in West Africa. It is economical to produce oil in this region because each well usually flow at 10's of thousands BOPD. Further, lease sale in early 1999 should add about $3-5 to the share price of ERHC. ERHC interest is not 40%; it is now 49%. There is no other publicly traded company that has such a large interest and such a large concession area (65,550 square miles) in the world.

I am sure that ERHC management is not paying any attention to these cheap shots, and I am also sure that they are not here to respond to some minor shareholders complaining about share price. Stock picking is not a guessing game. Do your homework, look at the fundamentals, and keep in mind the state of the energy sector.
