Greetings Dll, Circumcision and Passover under the Old Covenant, were " outward " ordinances given by God to His people Israel. They were in effect foreshadows of what the Lord Jesus Christ would accomplish at Calvary. Circumcision of the flesh (" outward " )would now become Circumcision of the heart ( " inward "), and Passover ( blood on the doorposts and lintels ) " outward ", would now be the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Everlasting Passover. ( "inward " ). Old Testament Circumcision and Passover as practiced back then have been done away with as the Old Covenant has been replaced by the New Covenant. They have been transcended by a new Circumcision and Passover, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what is meant when they are said to be " forever ", they have abolished their " outward " practices and found their fullfillment completely in the Lord Jesus Christ. They have ended their style as performed under the Old Covenant. Christians now celebrate the " ultimate Passover " the Lord Jesus Christ, in the breaking of bread, as instructed by the Apostle Paul, to the Church. DLL, I am not familiar with the " Passover Sader", therefore no comment. Please keep always in your mind, as we seek understanding of the Old Testament, that the coming of Lord Jesus Christ is the main and central theme woven carefully throughout the many Books. What do you mean DLL, by this statement, << Passover as well is continuing and has evolved but was never done away with. I have sat in and enjoyed Passover as a believer >>. Grace and peace to you, DLL. Robert

Dear Donald,
Today is the Jewish fast day of Tisha B'Av, the Ninth day of Av.
I don't know if they talked about this at your service today but I find it very ineresting. There are 8 events in the history of Israel as a Nation of major disasters happening all on the same day. THe 9th day of Av is first noted in the rebellion of the Israelites at the reports of the giants in Caanan. THe result was rebellion in Numbers 14:1-10.
The 2nd disaster was the destruction of Solomons Temple in Jeremiah and Kings. The fire was started the evening of the ninth day of Av and continued to burn thru the tenth until it was burned to the ground.
THe third is the destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70AD. THe daily sacrificial system stopped on the seventeenth of Tammux and 21 days later was the 9th of Av the day the Roman Army reached the edge of the Temple compound. THere are some verses in Daniel chapter 9 about this event. Verse 26 says; and after threescore and two weeks 'shall Messiah be cut off, and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary: and in the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war, and unto the end of THE WAR desolations are determined.
Titus is recorded as trying to prevent the destruction of the Temple and even declaring himself innocent of this event at the end. The verse in Daniel foretold that the people of the prince not the prince himself would destroy the Temple.
THe 4th disaster was recorded in 71AD when the ROmans came in an plowed down the Temple mount and the city of Jerusalem on the ninth day of Av.
The 5th is Simon Bar Kochba who claimed to be the Messiah after the fall of Jerusalem in 70ad. His army fought off the Romans for a time but on the 9th day of Av the Roman emperor Hadrian came with a large army and slaughtered them on that day. THis was the last Israeli army until 1948. The year was 135 which was 65 years after the fall of Jerusalem. Isaiah 7:8 says: Within sixty five years Ephraim(Israel) will be too shattered to be a people.
The 6th disaster was on July 18, 1290AD the ninth day of Av, King Edward I ordered the expulsion of all Jews from England. THis started a struggle between England and the Jews for the homeland of Israel.
THe 7th was on August 2, 1492 the 9th day of Av when SPain ordered the expulsion of some 800 thousand Jews. This also is the day Christopher Columbus is recorded as the day he left to discover America.
The 8th disaster was on August 1, 1914 World War 1 was declared.
THe odds of this many events happening on the same day over 35 centuries is a God thing.
This is a day of mourning for them and most of all their seperation from their Messiah.
Love in Yeshua,
Nancy
