Luc: re:your comments of Quicktent being gimmicky, I totally disagree, but if could give us the names of the dealers you talked to about Quicktent, I will check them out. No offense but with so many shorters out there, we need to follow up on everything. I trust no one anymore that does not give specific information that can be followed up. That includes me. I have been a retail manager for about 8 years in the 80's and if you can prove to us that you actually found even 1-2 dealers that did not like Quicktent I will be shocked, but a possible explanation is that the tent is about one half the price of the other high end tents they sell and they may not want to see their average price go down. Plus Quicktent has a refined new line of tents anyway that those dealers have not even seen yet. One that has attracted WalMarts and Fred Meyers attention. Regardless, we have heard just the opposite on Quicktents, and besides what is important is they go up quick so you have instant shelter from bad or dangerous weather, especially if you are a high level hiker or mountaineer or disaster victims needing emergency shelter. They do have embedded poles unlike the other cheap quicky tents and rain flies and are made of 100% ripstop nylon. I think you may have talked to people about OTHER quick to assemble tents, not Quicktent. This one has 22 patents and was tested for years by Boy Scouts and ohters in all sorts of weather and situations. But give me your list and I will check it out, ok? If anyone want to order one for around $115 I have a dealer who has a couple left. Let me know.
