Thanks for pointing this out to me. I was misreading the table, and I thought that the last set of Jan options were merely for Jan 2000. These really could be a very good bargain, especially given the 18 month tax consideration, and the potential for strong growth in WCOM.

DW: WCOM Leaps

I have been buying some 2001 leaps with strikes of 50 and 55's around $15-17. I hope WCOM will be over 100 at the expiration time. I intend to exercise the leaps at that time. This is my small down payment to buy the stock later. Generally I try to buy the leaps slightly out of the money. Of course this is a moving target as the stk price changes. In general, I do not choose the very deep in the money leaps as they tend to go down in value as the stock goes down. This is my personal preference.
