I thought you had given up any pretense of cooking years ago, Penni!! I was pretending to sweep and mop until quite recently, when I developed upper body joint pain and swore off of such physically stressful activities forever, so please don't take my remarks critically. Now if I could just figure out how to use my brain to make some money!! I agree that going out into the real world is a great way to have an impact, to make things work. But I also think the Internet is a very powerful tool. People like Del and me have never had a forum before where we could express our beliefs, especially in freedom FROM religion. It is really new and refreshing to be able to do that. It has also been stimulating for me to actually engage Christians in conversation, something I would not be able to do in my own neighborhood, which I suspect is about half-pagan and half-Buddhist, and a little Shinto, with all of the Asian migration to San Francisco. While I think you might see all this as just strident and unpleasant, I really do find it stimulating, just as I enjoy taking on libertarians and conservatives. Is it wrong to do this? Is is really true that no change is ever effected? I am not sure I have changed, but I certainly have a much wider understanding about how many different schools of political and religious thought there are than when I signed on here for the first time. I guess that is intellectual masturbation, because I am getting off on it, but as you suggested, that is not really so damaging. I understand that rain is on its way to your house. You have not been doing some weird ritual that Michael would disapprove of by the light of the moon again, have you?
