How can you tell the it is the guy who sold at 55 is buying back at 22. Why not that the guy bought at 54 and did not want to take a loss (believe me it is common for people tp put stop loss order)and sold in panic as soon as it falls 1 point to take the loss and run and some other smartguy is buying low. It is impossible to say.

Obviously the guy who is selling at the bottom is in real panic and not thinking straight unless he bought his shares at IPO when his price might be 2 bucks, he still mad money. Everything is relative.

In a long run if the company is successful it doesn't matter if you buy at 40 or 50 if it is going to be big player the stock will be 100 or more. I am talking in general not specific about ASND.
One more imp fact "Nobody has figured out how to time the market both for entry and exit points." If anyone says they are only bluffing.
One reason is crowd psychology is hard to predict when it changes.
I don't waste trying to think what my neighbor is doing and why he is doing. It can drive you nuts.
