The article speculated that ATHM/T/TCI will have to deal with AOL in order to get their subscribers on broadband. That may well be.

However where did you hear that xDSL is dead ? I have fireinds who have been on xDSL trials and it's just fabulous. You just need an ethernet card in your PC and that's it - you're off to the races with 6 to 10 Megabits per second - it's like being on a corporate LAN! With ATHM you need a cable box and the bandwidth is actually quite limited in comparison.

Finally, if your cable company offered you phone service and yoru phone company offered you cable service, which would you go with ?
