SeQuester Holdings Inc. Announces Prudential Lawsuit
Moves Forward

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--Aug. 6, 1998-- SeQuester Holdings Inc. (OTCBB:SQST - news) Thursday announced that the company has been advised by the attorney for Clark Holcomb that the Prudential motion for summary judgment in the Holcomb case has been denied and the trial has been set to commence on Nov. 3, 1998.

The company and its counsel are discussing with counsel for Holcomb whether in fact a consolidation of the two cases would be beneficial. The company's action is similar in nature to that of Holcomb's, and this statement appears as an update of the litigation in which the company is suing for $114 million in damages and treble the amount in punitive damages.

A further update on both pieces of litigation will be made prior to the commencement of the trial.

The company filed a lawsuit against Prudential Insurance Company of America, Pruco Securities Corp. and Patrick Welsh in the Los Angeles Superior Court (Case No. GC 020459) in March 1998. SeQuester Holdings is seeking damages that resulted from interference in the economic relationships and prospective economic advantage of SeQuester Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

The board of directors has voted to distribute the net proceeds derived from this lawsuit to the shareholders of the company. The company's management believes that the lawsuit is meritorious but is unable to determine the outcome of the lawsuit at this time.
