You can interpret this deal as either gutsy or stupid.

Either a mid to long term coup, or a short term disaster.

IMO I don't think that this will hurt with LU. LU may love the combination.

Time will tell.

I seriously doubt that he wants to put Lucent in a spot right in front of the whole investment community watching.
Have to wait till 10/01 before anyone opens their mouth.
