This sounds very strange. What if it takes 6 months or 12 months to sell these businesses? Someone has to pay salaries, rent offices, build products etc.? If these costs exceed revenues (which is likely, since this company was losing money), someones bottom line has to be affected.

I guess I don't understand these accounting rules.
