Gene - Re: " As Lehman Bros. pointed out, if PII-M turns out to be popular, it will be bad for Intel. "

That is Lehman's opinion.

Why don't you tout Morgan Stanley's Edelstone's opinion or Prudential's Hans Mosesmann's opinion?

Why is it always the negative opinions that you dwell on.

If you like pain, try poking a sharp pencil in your eye ! It will feel just as good to you as an Intel downgrade !

RE:"As Lehman Bros. pointed out, if PII-M turns out to be popular, it will be bad for Intel. And now it looks like they may find their way into a lot of business applications as well as the consumer market."

Funny how Intels determination to bury socket 7 has turned full circle and they are back having to reduce costs on large die size chips. It's like trying to take 1/2 a step back after trying to take a step forward....
By now Intel could have been pumping out 333 MHz PentiumMMXs for a cost of less than $25!!!! and be enjoying higher margins rather than trying to stuff a square peg (P-II/Celeron) in a round hole (sub $100 cpu and sub $1000 PC market). Businesses would have gladly taken them over the Celeron.
