Think about it for a minute. It would be impossible for Brown to fill your order for 5 or 10 bucks and execute on the NYSE floor. The clearing fees would eat them up.
The order goes to the guy that pays them for order flow and then he fills matching NYSE trades. Of course, he wouldn't be paying Brown if he didn't expect, on balance, to make a profit on your order

Now having said that, I still intend to keep Datek for otc trades and open an account at Brown for listed stocks.
