"The open issue, I want Emile to show me who God was taking about when God makes
a new covenant with the House Of Israel in Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8! Who is the
House of Israel? "

All those with the Faith of Abraham among the Jews first and then among the gentiles. All the Jews who had the faith of Abraham accepted Jesus. Then these Jews moved out among the gentiles to fulfill the prophecies about all nations grabbing on to the skirt of the Jews to teach them about the God of Abrham, Isaac and Jacob---Jesus Christ.

Steve,

I have been following your conversation with Emile with interest. I looked up Jeremiah 31 and would like your opinion upon something. Verses 1-14 talk about a returning but verse 15 -16 is talking about something which the new Testament proved has been fulfilled. The religion of Judaism says that Rachael was weeping for the lost sons of Israel who have been banished from the land and cannot be comforted until they return, however the New Testament makes it plain that it was for the children that Herod slew in the attempt of murdering Jesus. Matt. 2:18. This portion has been fulfilled but if it wasn't written in the New Testament would you have known where to divide the line between what has been fulfilled and what hasn't? Can you take the other passages and prove they have not been fulfilled just because they are not as clearly revealed?

Chris

Steve,
We agree then. What has become obsolete is the old covenant process of atoning for the sins of men. It has been replaced by Jesus Christ. The entire old testament is still valid except for the old covenant embodied in the law which could not save anyone and has become obsolete and is passing away.

<<The open issue, I want Emile to show me who God was taking about when God makes a new covenant with the House Of Israel in Jeremiah 31 and Hebrews 8! Who is the House of Israel? That's all I want to know. Then we will apply it to Hebrews and Jeremiah and continue our bible study.>>

The new covenant being talked about is Jesus Christ. There is no need for any further covenant after Jesus because the covenant in His blood is perfect. So there is no need to look for another covenant, there will not be one. All those who accept that covenant of Jesus Christ are His church or body. The trouble I am seeing is the Jews want to seperate themselves as Peter did and was accused of hypocrisy by Paul for it. Once born again the word plainly says their is no longer any distinction between a jew or a gentile. We all become one body in Christ. I don't know how the end times will be for christians who seperate themselves as some do based on flesh. It's like sgregation of blacks and whites in the body of Christ, jews and non-jews. It's voluntary but it's not right. It's a problem that He will deal with, and I know He will.

In Jesus,

Bob
