"The apostles and first christians did all their evangalizing whith
the old testament, that's all they knew"

The first Apostles and disciples did their evangelizing with the New Testament and the Old. The New Testament was in their memeory because they had lived it. When they went out preaching, they simply recounted the New Testament stored in their memeory. Within 15 years of the Resurrection some of the New Testament began circulating in writing. By the years 65 most of the New Testament was in writing.
The New Testament was always used in evangelization--at first it was through the oral recounting of the evenats the Apostles and disciples had actually experienced in the life of Jesus and later it was by the written Gospels and Epistles. No Christian Evangelization was ever done in the early Church without using the knowledge of the New Testamant events about Jesus's life and showing that he had fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies. The book of Act records the events starting immediately before Pentocost onwards and clearly show the New Testament accounts of the life of Jesus being used.
