GAMECENTER BANSHEE PREVIEW!

gamecenter.com

Final Paragraph:

"As Voodoo 2 prices continue to drop, it's hard to get terribly excited about Voodoo Banshee. From the start it was designed specifically to not be a Voodoo 2 killer, and it isn't. But it may end up being a compelling option for those who want a low-cost, integrated graphics card that's great for games. "

And they list lack of AGP-texturing as a negative!

Typical Intel-funded Gamecenter bunk!

Forgot to give Gateway Link: They seem to be using frames so you have to click on the Multimedia PC's box on the right to see the G series models: gateway.com
One suprising aspect of Gateway's configuration is that they don't seem too worried about sticker shock $3249 or as low as $90 per month.
I have to believe that Gateway knows their market, has done the research, and is confident that they will get them out the door. Joe C.

Gateway Sweeps Banshee Poll for OEM most likely to announce first!

Actually had two votes :( One for Gateway and one for Compaq (my own) but since I conducted the poll and Gateway made the V2 a standard on their high end pc model, I decided to change my vote for Gateway - kinda like the counting method used in some of those one man dictatorship sort of democracies ;) Joe C.

Take a look at Micron's 3DFX inventory....

Am browsing around configuring a new PC and look what I found on Micron's site in their upgrade section:

SVC2348 Diamond Monster 3D II 8mb Video Card $229.99 3562 in stock
XVC3000 Diamond Monster 3D II 12mb Video Card $279.99 8384 in stock

micronadditions.com

This tells me either they are selling "a lot" of V2s and need bunches in stock...or they are stuck with a bunch in inventory...thoughts?
