On Sunday, I had a long talk with one of the top researchers in AZA, and we also had a talk regarding the possibility of AZA buying VVUS. His answer is: No, not a slight possibility.

1) VVUS's product is not in their future direction of development;

2) He himself did not get any info regarding this kind of buyout talk;

3) He did not buy into the Incontinence study in VVUS, since he believed there are more big and better companies are working on the same subject, and VVUS has nothing to compete with those companies.

4) Gene Therapy. No way, as far as he knows, there are aslo a bunch of companies working on this similar issue, including a big one, but he refused to give me the name of the big company. Personally, he does not think VVUS has the resource to get anything significant out of this study.

5) He thinks after getting the sales person, the company has terminated its intention to buy VVUS, since it does not make sense to the investment community to buy the sales personnel first, and then the company. AZA does not screw up with the investors as VVUS did. Guys/gals, this item is identical to what I stated many times before.

So, his conclusion: no way for AZA to buy VVUS.

<<unless they play by your rules>>

What rules are you talking about? I have no more of an ability to effect the market than you. I have spent a lot of time getting info from Vivus and sharing it with the thread. You on the other hand came out with a statement that AZA was going to buy Vivus for $12.00/share. Now if all you said was that you heard that AZA might be purchasing Vivus that would be one thing but to claim that Vivus would be sold to AZA and quote a specific price is another. Only someone with a direct inside contact could make such a statement and I doubt you have such a source. I have never made any statements saying that Vivus was going to be sold at a specific price but I have posted opinions on what I deemed fair value of the company. My statement that I thought Vivus could be sold to AZA came from the observation that Vivus was originally a part of AZA and it sold its salesforce and now has transferred some administrators to the company. I also received a personal message from a SI member who asked not to be identified that he heard either AZA or J&J would probably buy the company. Also, considering that Vivus management owns 25% of the company and I am told that there are a number of shareholders owning both Vivus and AZA stock, it would seem to me that AZA would give Vivus a better price than they might otherwise obtain.

As far as your statement that I come across as Judge/Jury--everyone is crazy, drunk, stoned, etc.. that is YOUR opinion and you are entitled to it. But if you want to come on this thread and make bold statements with no sources to back them up then I suggest you join the crowd on the Yahoo thread. You can take your crass statements and name calling where it would be appreciated because I have no use for it.

SHUBLU <<You come across on this thread like Judge/Jury-everyone else is crazy, drunk,stoned,etc- unless they play by your rules. (JMO)>>

SHUBLU: Many investment boards do not want an honest exchange of ideas and facts. On these boards, self-appointed leaders only want to see facts, analyst reports, rumors, hype, and misinformation that support their long positions. You can expect any posting of information that does support this theme to be attacked as a "dreaded short who will soon be toasted".

The end result is that many novice investors end up with "substantial paper losses" similar to the board leaders.
