GDtech/AlienTech,

Thanks for the info/insight. What are your opinions and thoughts on
what is going to play out for VVUS. Also, you mentioned that AZA had purchased the sales force from VVUS...I did not see that in any of the press releases...it mentioned transfering to AZA, allowing VVUS to search for a major partnership...

Thanks again for the feedback. I am suppose to get in touch with the source that had mentioned the AZA buyout back a few weeks...at the time he said it would be 60 days or so. I will keep you updated.

<<On Sunday, I had a long talk with one of the top researchers in AZA, and we also had a talk regarding the possibility of AZA buying VVUS. His answer is: No, not a slight possibility. 1) VVUS's product is not in their future direction of development; 2) He himself did not get any info regarding this kind of buyout talk>>

A researcher is not in the stream to be told of company boyout plans. This guy has an ego problem if he thinks management would come down and tell him what they are planning. (Management have ego problems too but that is another story) As a Ph. D. chemist, I worked for 2 different companies during my 24 year stint (I quit chemistry 5 yrs ago) never did management feel they had to inform us of their decisions ahead of time.

One has to translate each line of this guy's comments. "He Himself did not get any info regarding this kind of buyout talk" means he has heard no rumors through the grapevine of such an action.

"Vivus's product is not in their future direction of development" means he doesn't want to work on someone else's idea. He's too good for that.

Now this doesn't mean AZA is interested in buying Vivus, but relying on the word of a bench chemist concerning top level management's plans for the company is great folly.
